The 2018 Shinju Fringe Festival heralds an exciting and auspicious new arts event: the inaugural KAN Snapshot Art Auction. The purpose of the auction is twofold: to showcase the diversity of practising artists in Broome, and to kick start a fundraising campaign that will finance the incorporation of the Kimberley Arts Network.
Artists have been asked to contribute a 30x30cm artwork for sale on the night. All reserves are $100, which makes this a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of art, whilst helping to raise funds for the development of KAN working towards helping Kimberley artists thrive.
The Peak Arts Group was established to meet the unique needs of the remote and culturally diverse arts community of Western Australia’s Kimberley region.
We envisage ourselves supporting and encouraging a thriving arts community that is inclusive and sustainable.
We aim to broaden collaboration between artists, emerging talent and the wider arts community with an emphasis on increasing the profile of the Kimberley’s artistic talent throughout Australia and internationally.
Our directive is to facilitate a vibrant, articulate, inclusive and sustainable arts community. We are committed to evolve with artists, to ongoing advocacy and to promoting opportunity, connection and celebration of the arts.
As an arts community we are committed to ethical standards in business and funding allocation, advocating for the fair and equitable treatment of our membership.
The Kimberley Arts Network is only as strong as its members – we would love to have your input on our journey to incorporation. If you have an artwork to contribute to the Snapshot Art Auction, or would like more information about the Kimberley Arts Network, check out our FaceBook page: Kimberley Arts Network, or email us KimberleyArtsNetwork @gmail.com.
